COVID-19 UPDATES

Glenn's Glass & Aluminium Ltd COVID-19 Level Two Statement - 14 May 2020

Glenn’s Glass will open for business under COVID-19 lockdown status Level 2 from Monday 18th May 2020

With the change to Level 2 there will be more flexibility in the way we operate the retail and sales parts of our business. That said we will be retaining  the majority of our level 3 protocols to continue to prioritise the safety of our employees, customers and the wider community.

Below are some of the key changes we have made in transitioning to COVID-19 Level 2:

  1. The Whakatane and Rotorua factories will return to a normal daily shift of 7.30am to 5pm. Level 3 hygiene protocols will remain in place while social distancing at 2m will be encouraged. In instances this is not possible the appropriate PPE will be worn. Meals breaks will be also be staggered to maintain social distancing.
  2. The offices in Whakatane, Rotorua, Gisborne, and Tauranga will open but strict Level 2 protocols will be in place regarding social distancing, hygiene and contact tracing. Where possible we would encourage customers to call to discuss their requirements over the phone first and  then make an appointment to meet with a sales representative if necessary.
  3. Our Sales Reps will be available for consultations but will continue to follow strict COVID-19 hygiene, social distancing and contact tracing protocols.
  4. Contact with customers will continue to be minimised where possible so please consider the effect that this may have on our deliveries and ability to work in “Your Bubble”. We have developed policies in this regards which will be made available prior to our contact with you.
  5. Social distancing, health and hygiene and appropriate PPE requirements for the workplace and its hazards continue to be in place to mitigate the effects of COVID-19.

Thanks again for your patience during these tough times.   Rest assured that although this lockdown has been hard for all of us we are ready to go in the ‘controlled freedom’ that is Level 2 and we thank you all for your business, hope that you and your families are all well and looking forward to the rest of the year in whatever form it may hold.

Regards

Glenn’s Glass and Aluminium Ltd COVID-19 Statement - 20 April 2020

After the announcement by the prime minister it looks like we are going to be able to restart manufacturing from the 28th April 2020 when the country will be moving to Level 3.  It has been an unprecedented time for us all during the last 3 - 4 weeks of lockdown which has been great for doing work around the house, but not so great for business.

To all of you who have been required to work as an essential business we thank you for the sacrifices that you have had to make to ensure that we can survive the lockdown and hopefully keep control of this virus.

However the world as we know it has changed and the requirements of Level 3 as we see it have meant a number of changes to the way we conduct our business going forward.  We have been working hard to adapt our structure to keep all of our services going but there are some key changes as follows: -

  1. The Whakatane and Rotorua factories will be operating a split shift system (6am – 3:30pm, and 3:45pm- 1:15am) This is to allow greater social distancing within the factories and may impact on our production output as we adjust to this environment. Our production staff will continue to communicate with you around delivery dates.

  2. The offices in Whakatane, Rotorua, Gisborne, and Tauranga will remain closed to ALL customers

  3. Our estimators will be working from home using their work email addresses.

  4. Our Sales Reps will also be working from home using their work email addresses and mobile phones.

  5. The retail business will be open ONLY in Whakatane for reglazes, showers, balustrades, garage doors and maintenance will be running normal business hours of 7:30-5:00pm with STRICT social distancing and health and hygiene rules.

  6. Wherever possible we are not allowed contact with customers so please consider the effect that this may have on our deliveries and ability to work in “Your Bubble”. We have developed policies in this regards which will be made available prior to our contact with you.

  7. Social distancing, health and hygiene and appropriate PPE requirements for the workplace and its hazards have been extended to cover the effects of COVID-19.

  8. We will make our contact details available on our website and Facebook prior to reopening

Thanks again for your patience during these tough times.   Rest assured that although financially this lockdown has been hard for all of us we are ready to go in the ‘controlled freedom’ that is Level 3 and we thank you all for your business, hope that you and your families are all well and looking forward to the rest of the year in whatever form it may hold.

Regards,
